As the Tezos ecosystem grows and evolves, so do its needs.
In an effort to more effectively support the rapidly expanding Tezos ecosystem, TQ will administer the Tezos Foundation’s new Ecosystem Grants Program to address key short and medium-term priorities. This program will support a number of targeted projects with up to $50,000 per proposal.
The Foundation will also continue to support academic research and other long-term projects, however, proposals for these types of projects should not be submitted in response to this RFP. Research priorities will be announced at a later date.
What We’re Looking For:
For our first cohort of ecosystem grantees, we will consider and accept proposals in the following categories:
- Developer tools for Tezos smart contracts
- Deployable smart contracts that have been tested and/or formally verified
- Tezos integrations or porting of major applications and key infrastructure (e.g. layer-2 scaling: state/payment channels, node deployment, etc.)
- Developer education (e.g. tutorials, explainers, training programs, data visualizations)
We expect this ecosystem grants program will be highly competitive. In line with the high-quality projects needed to further the Tezos ecosystem, and much like the application process for a top tier academic institution or accelerator program, only the most qualified and competitive proposals in each category will be selected to receive funding from the Tezos Foundation.
What You Can Expect:
Prospective applicants should submit grant proposals here. Proposals will be reviewed as follows:
- All applications must be submitted no later than 21 March 2019 at 23:59 EST.
- After all applications are received, we will conduct an initial review to filter out proposals that are not in line with priorities.
- Applications in line with priorities will be sent to our advisory committee for technical review.
- Upon completion of the review, successful applications will be sent to the Tezos Foundation Council for final decisions to be made.
- Applications that are approved by the Council will receive communication from TQ around 30 April 2019 about next steps including due diligence and legal paperwork.
- Due diligence will begin and may include checks into prior technical work experience and projects, skills, background, references, etc.
- Upon successful clearance of due diligence, legal paperwork will be shared with prospective grantees for review and signatures.
